Worcestershire LEP Annual Conference 2017
UK Operations Manager, Green Lighting Let
Upon completing his Level 2 Apprenticeship, Ryan progressed to a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques and was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor overseeing and guiding two new apprentices through NVQs.
Ryan was promoted to UK Operations Manager at Green Lighting Ltd in March 2014. Now at 25, he currently manages a workforce of 10 and is part-way through a Level 4 in Business Management with the ultimate aim of completing a degree in Business within 4 years, whilst working fulltime.
After leaving college at 18, Ryan undertook a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Storage and Warehousing at Green Lighting Ltd in Worcester which he completed in record time. This led to Ryan being nominated for National Apprentice of the Year in 2012 and winning Worcestershire Apprentice of the Year in 2014.
“I feel that I am example to those school or college leavers who maybe feel that an apprenticeship is a second-class job. I am proof that by working smartly and with integrity, an apprenticeship at whatever level can be the key to opening doors to a bright future.”
